Craftsmen to display work

A RANGE of high-quality handmade goods are available at a Summer Craft Fair near Morpeth this weekend.

Members of The Society of Northumbrian Craftsmen will be displaying and selling their work at Heighley Gate Nursery and Garden Centre.

The main aim of the society, which was founded in 1976, is to encourage a high standard of design and craftsmanship among its members.

Heighley Gate Events Co-ordinator Sarah Tait said: “The Summer Craft Fair will be a good opportunity for people to purchase unique handmade items, all of which have been made by crafters from the society.

“There will be more than 15 stalls and visitors will be able to buy a variety of items ranging from jewellery and personal gifts to photography and soft cushions.

“The society members will be on-hand to give helpful tips and advice to people interested in crafting at home.”

The event will take place on Saturday, from 10am to 5pm, and Sunday, from 11am to 4pm.
