POLICE are appealing for information after three burglaries in the Heddon on the Wall area.

Between 11pm on Wednesday, March 23, and 5am on Thursday, March 24, thieves broke into two garages in Hexham Road and Blue Row.

They stole a Stihl leaf blower, a PowerCraft drill, a saw and a black Apollo men’s mountain bike.

East Tynedale Neighbourhood Inspector Kevin Oates said: “Thieves are targeting garages and garden sheds and we need residents to help us deter them.

“Ensure your shed is locked and secure at all times and that anything of high value is kept somewhere safe. If you see anyone hanging around your neighbourhood and acting suspiciously then contact police.”
