Burglaries appeal

POLICE are appealing for information after three burglaries in Ponteland.

Overnight between Monday and Tuesday, thieves targeted two sheds and an empty house in the Long Meadows, Crossfell and Darras Road areas of Darras Hall.

In the Crossfell burglary, offenders stole two golf bags containing a number of clubs. These were found by officers in a nearby garden and recovered.

In Darras Road, thieves entered the property and stole copper piping from inside. Police believe they must have had access to a vehicle due to the amount and size of the metal taken.

And in Long Meadows, burglars got into the unlocked shed and stole a holdall containing books and personal belongings.

Anyone with any information into the burglaries is asked to contact Northumbria Police on 03456 043043 – extension 69191.
