A MORPETH man has appeared in court in connection with the death of a young mother.
Ashley Lawson, 23, of Second Avenue, has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving, aggravated vehicle-taking, having no insurance and driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence.
The charges relate to an incident on March 31 when 24-year-old Claire Dickman was killed when the vehicle she was travelling in crashed at Barmoor Bank on the A192.
The single mother, who had recently moved to a home in Eighth Avenue, Stobhill, died at the scene.
Lawson appeared at South East Northumberland Law Courts in Bedlington yesterday (Wednesday). He entered no pleas to the charges and the case was committed to Newcastle Crown Court for Wednesday, July 13.
The defendant was granted unconditional bail.
