Garden thefts ‘linked’

TWO thefts of ornamental garden features in Morpeth may be linked, police say.

Officers are investigating the incidents, which took place within a week last month.

Two ornamental bay trees in grey planters were stolen from the garden of a house in Badgers Green between 6pm and 6.48pm on Tuesday, October 16.

The planters were 10ins by 10ins by 10ins in size and each was embossed with Kew Gardens.

The trees and planters were 4ft tall and the trees were in a ball shape.

In the second incident a brass sundial with a cement inlay was stolen from a property in Pinewood Drive between 5pm on Saturday, October 20, and the same time the following day.

Anyone with information about the thefts should contact police on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
