‘Little Elvis’ death inquiry continues

INVESTIGATIONS are continuing into the death of a popular Morpeth karaoke character.

Michael Marshall, who was known as Little Elvis due to his love of singing and admiration of Elvis Presley, died in hospital after an altercation at Sanderson Arcade.

The incident happened outside the Corbridge Larder at about 3.30pm on Tuesday, August 23, when police say there was a ‘verbal altercation’, before Mr Marshall was assaulted.

The 52-year-old was revived at the scene, but died in Wansbeck Hospital two hours later.

A 55-year-old man was arrested and released with no further action.

A 49-year-old man, who was arrested on suspicion of manslaughter, has since been released on bail.

Police have been studying CCTV footage of the area.
