Man arrested after car fire

A MAN has been arrested after a car was set alight in a Morpeth street.

Police found the vehicle on fire in Second Avenue at 12.15am on Sunday.

The blaze was extinguished by fire services and subsequent investigations showed that it had been started maliciously.

No one was injured.

A 30-year-old County Durham man has been arrested in connection with the attack.
