A MORPETH widow has urged the thief who stole her purse to have a heart and return a photograph of her late husband.
Pensioner Yvonne Kent was shopping in the town’s Morrisons store on Friday, July 8, when the item was taken from her bag.
Among its contents was about £60 in cash and a photograph of her husband Denis, who was a fighter pilot in the Second World War, in his RAF uniform. He died of thrombosis in his 40s.
She said: “I sincerely hope that the person who took the purse will hand in the photograph to the police as it’s irreplaceable.
“Since the theft, I have been worried that my house and others might be targeted as the purse contained my address details and emergency contacts.
“It was a very upsetting experience, but I have to say that Victim Support, the store manager and the police officer who attended were all very helpful.”
The letters YZK, in gold, are stitched on the purse.
