Police appeal after items are stolen

The Darras Hall area of Ponteland has been hit by two thefts and a burglary in recent weeks.

At 4.30am on Saturday, December 20, burglars were disturbed inside a house in Willow Way, having entered through an unlocked door.

They stole two laptop computers and a Playstation 3 console before fleeing the property.

Sometime on the evening of Tuesday, December 16, an unlocked vehicle parked in Edge Hill was entered by thieves and money was stolen from inside.

And between 11am and 1pm on Friday, November 28, thieves got into an unlocked car parked on Runnymede Road. They took off with a Fuji digital camera.

East Tynedale Sergeant Mick Quinn said: “We are carrying out inquiries into these incidents and would appeal for anyone with information to contact us on 101, extension 69191.

“I’d ask residents to help us by locking their vehicles whenever they leave them and making sure that their home is secure at all times, especially overnight.”
