Telly raider didn’t do court work

A BURGLAR who stole a television from a caravan last year has been re-sentenced after failing to complete an unpaid work requirement.

Stefan Bell and two others drove to the Golden Sands caravan park in Creswell on February 3 last year, where he broke into a caravan and stole a TV worth £500.

Bell, 20, from South Side, Widdrington, was given a 12-month community order on February 18, 2010, with a requirement to complete 100 hours of unpaid work, but appeared before South East Northumberland Magistrates Court this week for failing to turn up to an appointment.

Graham Crouth, for the defence, told the court how Bell was five minutes late for the unpaid work due to a complication with a taxi.

Magistrates revoked the current order and re-sentenced him to a three month curfew order from 7pm to 6am.
