Thieves hit village

POLICE are investigating two thefts near a Northumberland village.

Horse matting worth £400 was taken from a stable block near Hebron reservoir between 8.30pm on Sunday and 9am on Monday.

And officers are also looking into a theft from Cockle Park Farm, which happened during the same period.

Thieves took five cans filled with petrol worth £71 from outside one of the farm buildings.
