Thieves steal from charity

AROUND £450 of fencing panels have been stolen from a charity.

The Area Training and Activity Centre (ATAC) in Widdrington Station had the eight panels stacked up at its premises in Mile Road, ready to be installed.

But committee members found the panels had been taken sometime between the evening of Friday, July 15, and Monday, July 18.

Vice Chairman Carolynn Lillico said: “The fence was going to go right to the end of our boundary, but we came in on the Monday morning and it was gone. We are a charity so it is not going to be easy to replace.”

Anyone with information about the theft can contact police on 03456 043043.
