TWO people have been charged with kidnap from a Morpeth school.
Kayleigh Padden, 21, of Pagoda Lodge, Longhirst, and Thomas Wragg, 20, formerly of Rothbury, have been charged with unlawfully taking or carrying away Zak Pringle against his will from King Edward VI School, contrary to common law, on March 26 this year.
At South East Northumberland Magistrates Court in Bedlington on Friday Wragg was told that the case has to be heard at crown court.
The defendant, who now lives in Windsor Road, Swindon, will appear at Newcastle Crown Court on Friday, October 21.
Padden did not attend the hearing and the court was told that she was not in the UK, so magistrates issued a warrant without bail for her arrest.
