THE 52nd annual Mitford Leek Club Show was another success, despite a number of mishaps in the build-up to the event.

The show, which took place at the usual venue of The Plough, was well attended by members, their family and friends, as well as other guests and pub regulars.

Unfortunately, four members were unable to show their leeks this year due to various reasons.

And another was in a serious condition in hospital after a car crash, but his leeks were still shown.

One member had to deal with his home being burgled the day before the event. However, he still managed to show his leeks.

The overall winner was Roger Young, who took the top prize for the seventh time, and also claimed the honour of Best Leek in Show.

And it was a real family affair as his brothers David and Eric finished seventh and tenth respectively, and their father Dick, who was a founder member of the leek club, took 12th place.
