Crops damaged in Northumberland field

Police are appealing for witnesses after crops were damaged in a field in Northumberland.

It happened at Park Head Farm in Netherwitton, near Morpeth, between 2am and 8am last Wednesday.

A vehicle was driven over an arable field causing damage to growing crops.

The vehicle – a silver coloured Isuzu Trooper and from Seaham, County Durham – has been seized by police and it is suspected to have been used in crime. It was abandoned in the field where it had been stuck in the mud and the occupants made off.

Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone who was in the area and who may have seen or heard anything suspicious is asked to contact police.
