CROSSING: Collision looks inevitable

editorial image

I write to express concern about the new zebra crossing at Stobhill.

As a resident of the area, I have experienced drivers failing to stop on a number of occasions when I have been about to cross, or most recently, as I was crossing.

This partly appears a function of vehicle speed coming up and down the bank.

I would urge the county council to monitor the crossing and review the safety arrangements and road layout to ensure that a collision, which at this time seems to be inevitable, is avoided.
