Morpeth Branch of the NHS Retirement Fellowship

Members have been making the most of the summer break from formal meetings to indulge in the lighter aspects of being retired.

They enjoyed a notable garden party in which they managed to incorporate a ‘bring and buy’ auction, as well as a thought provoking quiz.

They appreciated a fascinating visit to a honey farm in North Northumberland where they discovered that not only is honey produced, but there is a museum of memorabilia of household items from the 1940’s through to the 1960’s — memories were really stirred.

They have undertaken another cruise on the River Tyne, this time going upstream and taking in the marvels of the seven crossings between Newcastle and Gateshead. It made for a long day for our members, but a memorable one.

Always on the lookout for not only retired members from the NHS, but those who may be approaching retirement, and also those from the health and social care services. For more details contact Grahame on 077241 83710, or visit www.nhsrf.org.uk
