Danish student enjoys her internship in Northumberland

Northumberland Fire and Rescue Service (NFRS) welcomed a Scandinavian student for an overseas internship.

Josephine Wallbeck from Denmark, who is a retained firefighter at her local station, joined NFRS officers as part of her degree in emergency and risk management at the Metropolitan University College of Copenhagen.

Fire officers across all departments shared skills and experience with her over the nine-week placement.

Josephine said: “It has been great spending time in Northumberland and it has been an exciting and challenging trip.

“I’m so grateful to the NFRS for all of the experience its officers have given me.”
