Dealing with dog fouling

AN extra 21 council officers will be set to work to tackle dog fouling in the county.

Northumberland County Council is increasing the team responsible for enforcement from ten to 31 as part of a zero tolerance approach to the problem.

Existing civil enforcement officers are being trained to carry out dog fouling and littering enforcement alongside their regular duties.

Anyone found not cleaning up after their pet could face a fine of £1,000.
