This Dementia Awareness Week (May 15-21), I would like to encourage people in the North East to confront dementia head on.

People with dementia can sometimes feel isolated, lonely and experience a loss of confidence, but it doesn’t have to be like that. Alzheimer’s Society is tackling the many myths and misunderstandings about dementia by telling us life doesn’t end when dementia begins.

The charity is there for anyone affected by dementia and there are lots of ways it can help you.

Alzheimer’s Society is there to offer information and support, and the sooner you confront dementia by getting in touch, the better your chances of living well with the condition.
