Dolphin survey

NORTHUMBERLAND Wildlife Trust has received £1,200 from The Royal Society of Wildlife Trusts’ Marine Fighting Fund for a dolphin survey.

The study, which will be carried out twice a week for the next 12 months with the North East Cetacean Project, will help to determine the status of white beaked dolphins and other cetaceans.

Steve Lowe, Head of Conservation at Northumberland Wildlife Trust, said: “This grant is critical to help us undertake a survey for a species for which it is thought the North Sea off the coast of Northumberland may be critical.”
