Down Under plea for lost relative

A HERALD reader in Australia is appealing for help to trace his long-lost relatives.

Peter Walton is seeking information about his great uncle Thomas Connelly, who lived in the Hepscott Park area.

And the icing on the cake would be to find any living relatives.

Thomas was born in Chester-le-Street on November 6, 1895 to Michael Connelly and Annie Brennan, and died at the age of 84 at Hepscott Park on December 2, 1979.

He was a haulage contractor, but Mr Walton knows little else about him.

Mr Walton’s grandmother Mary Elizabeth Connelly left home at a young age and lost all contact with her family.

Anyone who can help Mr Walton with his search for information, or family members, should e-mail or write to PO Box 886, Karama NT 0813, Australia.
