There was plenty of festive fun when school pupils went along to a sheltered housing scheme in Morpeth.
As part of the Friday afternoon Deep Learning Experience activities at Newminster Middle School and Technology College, each Year 8 class takes part in a community project with teacher Sarah MacFarlane.
This term, students have been visiting Renwick House in Kirkhill on a rota basis.
They have organised games, art and crafts activities, quizzes and refreshments and on the last school day before their two-week break, some of the pupils put together a Christmas party for the residents, who received tasty treats from a hamper and secret Santa gifts.
Mrs MacFarlane said: “These visits are an excellent opportunity for the students to socialise with people from a different generation and realise how small actions can have a positive impact on other people’s lives.
“We will continue to work with the sheltered housing scheme throughout the rest of the academic year.”
