Morpeth All Saints First School has been working closely with an initiative that helps teachers to show pupils how they can make a positive difference both locally and globally.

It held a Big Picnic event and invited the local community to attend. It raised enough funds to buy a cow and chickens for a family in Africa through the Send a Cow Education organisation. Staff and pupils have thanked its representatives Rachel Lyons and Alan McKenzie.

All Saints teacher Laura Ritson said: “We are also continuing our fund-raising efforts throughout harvest and plan to build Keyhole Gardens on school grounds, enabling pupils to understand the importance of these in Africa.”
