Expert teaches students some vital skills

Pupils at Richard Coates Middle School in Ponteland received top first aid tips from Amir Mousavipour of Aqua Pursuits. He led four sessions that covered each Year 8 class and these students received a certificate. There was also a talk from a British Heart Foundation officer.

Head of Year 8 Claire McElduff said: “The pupils picked up some important skills, such as how best to treat a sore arm and how to put someone in the recovery position. They said they really enjoyed the session and it opened their eyes to what is required when it comes to first aid.”
