Growing sum for school pupils

A PONTELAND school’s gardening project has received funding support.

Richard Coates Middle School pupils grow a range of flowers, plants and produce on site and some of the food is washed and used for school meals.

Ponteland Town Council awarded it a £150 grant. This amount was only some of what the school asked for as councillors felt the £400 request was a bit excessive, but they encouraged staff to approach other organisations for further money.
