A GROUP of Morpeth school students have the opportunity to go on a trip to the London 2012 Olympics after reaching the regional final of a national competition.
The team of eight from King Edward VI School have designed what an ideal break and lunchtime would look like – ensuring that healthy eating, keeping active and feeling good about yourself are all included, as well as reflecting the Olympic and Paralympic values.
They will participate in the regional final of Design My Break on Tuesday, March 8 at GE Oil & Gas in Cramlington, which involves submitting a written report, doing a five-minute presentation and exhibiting their ideas at a stand.
Other prizes include tickets to an Olympic event in the region and £500 to make students’ ideas into a reality.
In addition, all participants will get the opportunity to meet an athlete or para-athlete at the regional final.
The KEVI team is: Adam Pringle, Cameron Willis, Rachel Martin, Philippa Goode, Richard Russell, Ben Brown, Rebecca Fisher, Sarah Bredin-Kemp.
