Schools get road safety markings

NEW ‘keep clear’ markings will be painted outside a village school.

Northumberland County Council’s Planning and Environment Committee has granted permission for the markings to be placed outside Belsay First School to prevent indiscriminate parking and address road safety fears.

A new Traffic Regulation Order was also approved for existing markings outside Darras Hall First School to ensure the ‘keep clear’ notice is enforceable.

Consultation was carried out in both cases and no objections were submitted to the council.
