Wildlife charity sends out SOS

AN SOS has gone out for more volunteers to support a wildlife charity’s school and community work.

Northumberland Wildlife Trust is looking for helpers to take part in a wide range of activities.

Volunteers could work with children in arts and craft sessions, help to run community events and work with young people on environmental projects, such as bulb and tree planting.

Trust Head of People and Wildlife Jason Gaskell said: “I have heard so many of our volunteers say that being around young people keeps them feeling youthful.

“The People and Wildlife team is a great group of people and to be a volunteer with them is a wonderful opportunity for anybody with a few hours on their hands who wants to get out of the house and enjoy themselves.”

No experience is necessary and full training will be given. All volunteers will be subject to a CRB police check.
