Members of a charitable organisation in the county have taken part in eight days of fundraising for local causes.
In a packed programme the Morpeth Lions managed to raise more than £2,000.
The Lions were on the streets collecting during the Food Festival and raised nearly £650, the next day they were in Asda in Ashington for a bag pack which raised a further £400.
The eight days also included two charity Chinese banquets in aid of the president’s charity which this year is the Bubble Foundation which helps babies born without an immune system.
The two Chinese Banquets at Mulan Restaurant were attended by 120 people and raised more than £1,000.
Lion president Ian Brown said: “I would like to congratulate the club on a tremendous effort.
“None of this would be possible without the generosity of the local communities, friends and visitors.
“Than you to all those who attended the events, those who gave raffle prizes, the staff at Asda Ashington, and the management and staff of the Mulan Restaurant without whom the charity dinners would have been possible.”
