Go greener with new fund

A NORTHUMBERLAND MP is urging communities in the countryside to bid for part of a £15million Government fund to help them generate their own clean green power.

Sir Alan Beith is raising awareness of the Rural Community Energy Fund, which is specifically targeted at helping villages to access the money needed to carry out feasibility studies into renewable energy projects – from solar to biomass – and fund the costs associated with applying for planning permission.
