IT’S time to put away the winter woollies — and some of our animal friends are leading the way.
Northumberland Wildlife Trust has taken advantage of the recent warm weather to shear its growing flock of sheep.
More than 160 sheep have passed through the clippers from sites including East Chevington and Prestwick Carr over four days of shearing.
The fleece has been sent to the British Wool Marketing Board to be graded and sold through auction and any money raised will support the trust’s conservation projects.
The sheep are part of the charity’s Flexigraze initiative for its sites.
