A CONTRACTOR has been appointed to carry out works at a spot near the Main Street entrance to Ponteland Park.
Details of the various quotes received for the job to repair the wall beside the Waitrose bridge were presented to Ponteland town councillors and they agreed to accept the lowest tender, which was just under £5,000.
As this figure was higher than the estimated amount in the authority’s budget, some of the funding will come from its contingencies.
Before the project can begin, an application for the works needs to be approved by the Environment Agency.
Meanwhile, quotes for the re-painting of the park’s Millennium Bridge will be reported to members at the December meeting.
