Woodland grows from old cards

OLD Christmas cards could lead to new woodland through an in-store recycling scheme.

Marks and Spencer has placed card recycling bins in more than 300 of its shops and for every 1,000 cards it collects the company will plant one tree in partnership with The Woodland Trust.

Customers can vote online for where they would like the trees to be planted and the more votes a region gets, the more trees will be planted there.

The recycling bins will be in place throughout January.
