EVENT: New venue, but same standard

For many years, the Lions Club of Morpeth has organised a Meet the Lions event where local elderly and disabled people are given afternoon tea, entertainment and a parting early Christmas gift.

The club has been fortunate to have been able to use the Riverside Lodge facilities, thanks to the generosity and co-operation of the owners.

Unfortunately, this year there has been a double-booking resulting in the club having to find a new location.

I am pleased to advise that, although we have had to reduce the numbers attending to 120, St George’s United Reformed Church has kindly made the church and its facilities available.

Accordingly Meet the Lions will take place on Sunday, November 18, at St George’s URC Church, which will be open for attendees to enter at 2pm, not before.

The club is sure that past standards will be maintained.
