There is a new committee team at the Morpeth and District Chamber of Trade following its AGM.
George Williams is the chairman of the business group. He has previously been in the role and played an important part in its successful campaign for free parking in the town centre, among other activities.
Former town councillor Ken Brown is vice chairman and the other roles are as follows: Deputy vice chairman, Lee Richardson; treasurer, Stuart Moody; immediate past chairman, Jacky Beesley; honorary president, Geoff Proudlock.
Mr Williams said: “The Morpeth and District Chamber of Trade is working hard to make itself more relevant to the retail and commercial communities in the town.
“We have plans for expansion in various directions, which we will develop over the next few months.
“The combination of personalities and general experience makes this a very professional working group and one that will take the chamber forward in a very positive manner in the future.”
