Farmers' market will mark family fun month
The August Morpeth Farmer's Market will be held on Saturday and marks the start of National Family Fun Month.
Hexhamshire Organics will be joining the line-up to offer its delicious range of fresh fruit and vegetables for shoppers to enjoy, including some great seasonal produce to brighten up any summer dish.
Husband and wife team, Bob and Ann Paton, took on the project of growing fruit and vegetables after moving to Hexham five years ago with an original plan to grow enough to be self sufficient.
The couple were awarded the prize ‘organic’ mark by the Soil Association in 2014 and now have two greenhouses, two poly tunnels and an orchard that will eventually produce apple, pears, plums and cherries.
As well as Hexhamshire Organics providing fruit and vegetables to the public; Northumberland Poultry will also be at this month’s Farmers’ Market selling the highest quality organic free range poultry. There will also be handmade fudge from The Northumbrian Fudge Parlour.
The market will run from 9am to 3pm.
