Fire inquiries continue

INQUIRIES are ongoing to find the cause of a major fire which erupted at a north Northumberland farm, destroying property and leading to the loss of around 300 tonnes of straw.

Fire crews were called out to Hadston Farm, South Broomhill, at around 6.20pm on Monday, January 9, to tackle a barn blaze.

A spokeswoman for Northumberland Fire and Rescue Service said: “At present, following investigations, the cause of the fire is unknown and inquiries are still ongoing.”

A Northumbria Police spokesman said there was nothing to suggest that there had been a criminal act at the site.
