Flood rest centres stood down

FLOOD rest centres in Morpeth have now stood down.

People evacuated from their homes in High Stanners and Dawson Place early this morning were taken to King Edward VI School, while the Town Hall acted as a holding point.

Both centres provided warmth and refreshments, and council staff were on hand to deal with immediate enquiries and provide support.

All residents have now left the centres and they have stood down from their role.
