Pictured opening the refurbished changing rooms are Coun Ian Swithenbank, Northumberland County Councils cabinet member for local services; Coun Andrew Tebbutt, ward councillor for Morpeth Kirkhill, and Jack Marshall from Morpeth Conservatives Football Team.

The changing rooms had deteriorated badly as a result of their age and had to be taken out of use a few years ago.

They have now been completely refurbished to provide a facility suitable for adult teams and girls’ and boys’ teams.

An accessible toilet has been added which can also be entered from outside the changing rooms and can be used by spectators during training sessions and matches.

Coun Ian Swithenbank, the county council’s cabinet member for local services, said: “I’m delighted that the council has been able to invest in the changing rooms and provide an excellent facility for adult and junior football teams in Morpeth.”
