Freezing weather set to continue over the weekend in the North East
It's a little brighter at least, with the Met Office predicting it to stay generally dry with plenty of sunshine, and just a few patches of cloud around this afternoon.
After a widespread frost, It will stay cold through the day, but with just light winds. Temperatures are expected to be no higher than 5 °C.

Friday is predicted to be another generally dry day with plenty of sunshine. A widespread frost to start, and staying cold through the day, although winds will stay light. Temperatures will reach a maximum 4 °C, according to Met Office predictions.
A cold weekend is expected with night frosts and a chilly northeasterly wind bringing more cloud and a chance of wintry showers. Lighter winds and some brighter spells possible on Monday.
