A holiday park is encouraging visitors to enjoy an energetic Bank Holiday weekend and take part in its charity run.
Golden Sands in Cresswell will host the five-mile run on Saturday in aid of St Oswald’s Hospice.

The event is open to serious and fun runners, and entrants are invited to don fancy dress to help create a carnival atmosphere.
Event organiser Sandra Thompson, who owns the holiday park with husband Nigel, said: “We had such great support for our first St Oswald’s Fun Run last year that we’ve decided to make it an annual event.
“It’s a great opportunity to raise money for a really worthwhile cause and because it’s five miles, you don’t have to be a serious runner to get involved.
“We really enjoyed seeing people in fancy dress last year and we hope even more entrants will get dressed up to take part in this year’s run. Plus, it gives people who have never been to Golden Sands before the chance to have a look around the park.”
St Oswald’s Hospice Fund-raiser Laura Elliott said: “It’s great that Golden Sands is organising the fun run for a second year. We need to raise £7million each year to provide hospice care to local adults, children and young people, and events like this make a real difference.”
The run starts at 11am on Saturday. Entrants can register at Golden Sands Holiday Park reception in Beach Road from 9am. There will be prizes for the best fancy dress costumes.
The park is also holding a fun day on Sunday, with an It’s A Knockout games competition, zorb riding, music and children’s rides. It starts at noon.
