ORGANISERS of the fourth Stannington Make-Bake-Grow and Show hailed the event a big success.
About 300 people turned up to see the competition entries, the dog show and a new feature – the scarecrow wheelbarrow race.
Sandra Dickinson, a member of the 14-strong organising team, said the entries were of a high standard.
She added: “There was a larger number of entries than last year, particularly in the grow section.
“We had fantastic weather on the day and that helped to bring out the crowds. The dog show was once again very popular and the scarecrow race went down very well.
“The show has become an established event in the village calendar and people look forward to it every year.”
