Get crafty at a festive fair

GET into the Christmas spirit at a garden centre near Morpeth this weekend.

Heighley Gate Nursery & Garden Centre is inviting people to see its festive ranges as part of its Christmas fair.

In addition, on Saturday experts from Krafty Kidz will be running a variety of children’s craft workshops from 11am to 3pm. All activities cost less than £6 per child.

In the same time period the centre will be hosting free gift-wrapping demonstrations.

There will also be a charity tombola, which will cost £1 for five rounds – all proceeds will be donated to St Oswald’s Hospice.

On Sunday, enjoy performances from the band Steel Quake and pick up tips at free craft demonstrations.

Both will take place between 11am and 3pm.

General Manager Roger Wale said: “This year we have a fantastic array of festive gifts, decorations, lights and artificial trees, as well as wrapping paper and ribbon in-store to complete your Christmas shopping.

“Gardening Club members and people who sign up to the club during the weekend will receive a complimentary glass of non-alcoholic, spiced berry punch and a mince pie on arrival, while stocks last.

“We’ll also be taking reservations for Christmas lunches, our children’s breakfasts and teas with Father Christmas and for our Christmas Winter Wonderland experience.”
