LEGACY projects are being considered to preserve the history of Lynemouth smelting.
Rio Tinto Alcan has already commissioned a student specialising in industrial photography to take pictures of the site throughout its decommissioning process, and is planning to archive material from the Lynemouth site.
In May, there will also be a chance for past and present employers, their families and business and community leaders to visit the site and see a display of old photographs.
The company is keen to hear ideas of how the history of the plant can be suitably recorded.
Director John McCabe said: “It is definitely something we need to consider and we will willingly accept input and suggestions.”
