Residents with a passion for health are being given the chance to be more involved.

Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is looking for people to become a public governor, with four vacancies in Wansbeck.

Duties include holding non-executive directors to account, reviewing the annual report, and representing the interests of the public in governance meetings.

The deadline for nominations is 5pm on May 3. Nomination forms are available by calling 0208 889 9203, emailing ftnominationenquiries@electoralreform.co.uk, online, or by texting 2FTNH with your name and address to 88802.

Before applying to become a public governor, you must first become a member of Northumbria Healthcare. Becoming a member is very straightforward and can be done by completing an online application form or by calling 0191 203 1296.
