PONTELAND residents are being given the chance to have their say about traffic congestion.
The Highways group of the town council is debating options on how authorities could alleviate some of the problems, in addition to calling for a bypass as it accepts this could be some way off.
Suggestions so far include re-routing heavy goods vehicles.
Although the group accepts that the A696 will continue to be used with no bypass in place, it is calling for an end to HGVs travelling via Callerton Lane, North Road and Berwick Hill Road.
A right turn restriction from Bell Villas into Eland Lane at the Diamond Inn has also been mentioned to improve traffic flow.
