MORE than 200 people called into Morpeth Town Hall on Sunday for its first major wedding fair.
Organisers at Morpeth Town Council and Northumberland Registration Services were hopeful of a good turnout for the event as a previous mini fair attracted large numbers.
But they were taken aback at just how much interest it generated.
Numerous stalls were set up throughout the landmark building, offering everything couples might need for their big day, and the Ballroom was decked out to show how it could look for a wedding ceremony, as well as playing host to bridal fashion displays.
Morpeth Town Clerk Gillian Turner said: “It was absolutely brilliant.
“There were well over 200 people who came along and the traders had a fantastic day.
“All of the traders were asking when the next fair will be and I think we will definitely have another one.
“Everything went well.”
