A BRAVE schoolgirl is preparing to lose her long locks to help a children’s cancer charity.
Ten-year-old Hannah Davis will have about eight inches of her golden hair chopped off next week in aid of the Little Princess Trust, which provides wigs for youngsters who lose their hair during cancer treatment.
The Dr Thomlinson Middle School, Rothbury, pupil, who lives near Longhorsley, will donate her tresses, as well as raise funds through sponsorship.
She hopes to collect at least £350, which covers the cost of making a wig.
Hannah said: “I’m not worried about it, but I have had my hair longer than my shoulders since I was about five. I wanted to cut my hair so I thought it would be better to use it for this rather than just waste it. It will be very short though.”
Hannah’s hair-cut, which takes place at Albion House Hairdressers in Longhorsley on Wednesday, follows a similar fund-raiser by her 15-year-old cousin Ellen.
