Have a say on parish boundary

PEGSWOOD residents can have their say about a potential small revision to the administrative boundary for their parish council.

The authority has requested that its boundary with Ashington Town Council be amended to allow Pegswood Community Fire Station, Pegswood Cemetery and the sculpture ‘Robin of Pegswood, to be fully incorporated within its boundary.

It has asked Northumberland County Council to carry out a community governance review. The county council has the powers to conduct such reviews which can involve creating new or amalgamating parishes, amending electoral arrangements or changing names.

As part of this process the unitary authority is asking local people for their comments.

Those who want to give their views need to submit them in writing to Lesley Bennett, Team Leader Governance/People, Democratic Services, Northumberland County Council, County Hall, Morpeth, Northumberland, NE61 2EF

You can also send an email to Lesley.Bennett@northumberland.gov.uk by Friday, August 19.
